Heart ERA

  • Hey guys, I’m starting my own film and music studio and I wanted to tell you about it and ask for your support.

As of now, I’m building from the ground up and am working solo at my company, so I would really appreciate you guys following our social media pages/ subscribing on YouTube, watching or listening to content we post, making donations to help us grow, and following along for our journey!

I’ll be updating you guys on our progress as a company, any new projects, and I’ll let you know when my team eventually grows. Through this studio, I’m pursuing my lifelong dreams as an artist. We’re starting off small, but with community support and by taking small steps, hopefully I’ll reach my studio goals. I will appreciate any and all support you’re able to give!

    Thank you!

  • Introducing Heart ERA! Founded by Cassandra Alexa,

Heart ERA is a film & music studio and activism organization consisting of three divisions:

    Heart ERA Studios (film division)

    Heart ERA Music (music division)

and Heart ERA Wolf Flowers (activism & research division)

Heart ERA is the name of the overall company, encompassing all three divisions.

The word “ERA” in the name is an acronym for Empathy, Representation, and Activism, which is what this studio revolves around.

  • Heart ERA’s mission is to use film, music, and activism to uplift marginalized communities and create social change.

  • Heart ERA Studios is our film division, which will be a movie and television studio that handles pre- through post-production on our original films, and this division will also have a streaming service.

  • Heart ERA Music is our music division, and it will be a record label & music recording and production studio.

  • Heart ERA Wolf Flowers is our activism and research division. This division serves as an activism organization, carrying out activism work such as volunteering, donating, or educating/informing the public on social and political issues, etc., to create real-world change. This division also provides research for our creative projects and online posts. Additionally, this division continues to come up with ways to make our studio function more progressively.

This division is named after the Diné tale/lessons of the origin/creation of Wolf Flowers, one of the Diné pre-colonization names for bluebonnets, Texas’ state flower. Bluebonnets were also my paternal grandpa’s favorite flower. He passed away when I was 13, and I associate the flower with fond memories I had with him, looking at bluebonnets together; so I have a special love for bluebonnets.

  • At Heart ERA, we produce diverse and progressive original film and music content in any genre or format. We also make client projects such as commercials, music videos, entertainment event recordings, etc., and offer client services, which I will present as they become available.

  • Once our studio grows, we plan to sign recording artists through our music division; we hope to have regular theatrical releases, as we value and want to be a part of keeping the movie-going experience alive, and we also plan to make our own soundtracks for our films.

  • Now, while most film or music studios’ niches are genre-based or format-based, at Heart ERA, our niche is mission-based because the people and the mission are the heart of our art.

  • The art we produce is heavily influenced by leftist and socialist beliefs held by myself and other future team members/ employees/ artists contributing to creating a social change.

We are an independent studio and plan on staying independently owned and operated as well as independently funded, because in today’s film and music industry, it’s more vital than ever to not let your values be bought out. We also plan on always keeping our content and client services affordable, easily accessible, and disability-friendly. As mentioned before, we value and want to be a part of keeping the movie-going experience alive once we grow. And we will keep our artistic projects free of AI.

We aim to not only create change through our art, but in the real world through our activism, and also from within our studio through progressive company internal operations and the disability- and environmentally-friendly design of our future physical studio. Our leadership and future employees will be mainly people from marginalized groups, especially BIPOC, as uplifting marginalized communities is one of our biggest priorities. We especially aim to prioritize Latino/Indigenous and Black stories and talent at our studio.

  • We envision a future where film and music are ethical, inclusive, and powerful tools for change—where marginalized creators lead, audiences are respected, and art never loses its soul.

  • All projects made at our company should meet our project qualifications, meeting at least one of these factors:

    • Made by (a) diverse artist(s)

    • Centers on/ features diverse people

    • Includes a progressive matter

    • Gives opportunities

    • Gives back or makes a change

So this means we could make everything from a comedy or horror film that simply has authentically represented characters, or we could have a film project that is directly talking about a social issue or is specifically educational. Similarly, we can have a song that simply talks about love/heartbreak and is made by a diverse artist, or we can have a song that specifically talks about a social issue.

  • While we don’t have a physical location yet, we are based in Fort Worth, Texas, and intend to have our future physical studio still be in DFW.

  • Our first two projects we’re releasing are our short film High Functioning (Proof of Concept) , which was screened in the Roma Short Film Festival and received an honorable mention at the Chicano Hollywood Film Festival, and a commercial titled Cidercade- Cousinly Competition Commercial, which was a client project and our submission to Cidercade’s 2025 Creator Cup.

The logline for High Functioning (Proof of Concept) is: After their biggest drug deal yet, Jordyn is pressured by her best friend Ruby to party with their cut, only to end up with serious consequences.

High Functioning (Proof of Concept) is planned to be expanded into a feature film.

We have some projects coming in the near future, as well as some projects planned for down the road.

We’ll also have a website and app coming soon, so stay tuned for that.
